THE YOGA SHALA ETIQUETTE

Sign In & Timeliness 

All members and non-members are required to sign in online or on the MindBody app.
If you are attending a led class or workshop, please arrive at least 5 minutes early. This allows time for sign-in and setup of your mat without disturbing the practice of those around you. If you arrive late, please wait until after opening mantra to enter the shala.

Equipment & Hygiene 

The Yoga Shala has extra mats available to rent for $1 for beginners or impromptu visits. These mats must be thoroughly wiped down after use. We do, however, request that you purchase a personal mat for regular practice. Bring a towel if you deem necessary.
Personal hygiene is extremely important. We ask that you arrive free of odor (perfume included) as this is unpleasant for the instructors and fellow shala users.

Shoes/Personal Items

Shoes are to be left at the front door, please no wearing of shoes in the shala. All personal items (shoes, jackets, jewelry, bags, keys, phones, etc) should be left in your car or placed in a cubby. Cell Phones should be turned off or placed in silent-mode.
While it is extremely important to hydrate before and after practice, we ask that you do not bring water into the shala during your practice.

Childcare 

We have extra space for practitioners who wish to bring their children to the shala, however, we do not provide childcare. The shala is designed to be a relaxing and rejuvenating place for you to practice and we ask that you arrange outside childcare if necessary.  

Talking

This practice is personal and requires a quiet and focused mind. Please save socializing with fellow yogis until after class has ended. If you need the teachers attention, stand at the top of your mat and wait for them to assist you.
