In order to advance sequentially in Ashtanga Yoga, it is important to commit to and maintain a daily practice.
Ashtanga Yoga is a practice that should be practiced daily. In order to fully benefit from this ancient practice, you need to commit to this practice and allow growth and change to occur. As in India, students at The Yoga Shala must make a monthly commitment and attend class 3-6 days each week.
How Often Should I Practice?
You should practice daily (6 days per week with Saturdays and New and Full Moon days to rest). However, if you cannot practice 6 days a week, then you should space out your days of practice (i.e. Mon/Wed/Fri or Tues/Thur/Sun). If your time each day is limited, you will benefit from a shorter practice rather than no practice at all.
